215 – 10 Day Arequipa, Cusco & Lima Package Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Lima at any time, pick up at the airport and transfer to your accommodation for check in, then have the remainder of the day to explore the city.
Day 2 – After breakfast today you will check out of the hotel and be transferred to the Lima airport for your flight to Arequipa (flight not included). On arrival in Arequipa you will be picked up at the airport and transferred to the accommodation in Arequipa, then have the remainder of the day to explore the city.
Day 3 – Today you will have free time to explore the “White City” of Arequipa, we recommend taking one of the open top tour buses that are readily available around the main plaza.
Day 4 – Today you will leave Arequipa early at 3:00 am and travel to Chivay, you will arrive in Chivay at approximately 6:00 am where you will have time for breakfast (not included) and afterwards you will go directly to the Condor’s Cross. The drive to the Condors Cross will take about 2 hours, this place is considered a condor sanctuary, and from here you will enjoy views of the deep parts of the Colca Canyon, and with any luck you will see some condor’s in flight. After visiting the Condors Cross you will return to Chivay, visiting the traditional towns and some viewpoints of the Colca Valley. In Chivay, you will have time to visit the hot springs and have lunch (not included), after that you will start the journey back to Arequipa.
Once you return to Arequipa, you will stop at the highest point of the area, 4,900 meters above sea level, where you might see many volcanoes and the imposing Andes mountain range .You will also stop in Toccrapampa to see the llamas and alpacas, native birds, and in the National Reserve you will see the beautiful vicuñas. You will arrive back in Arequipa at approximately 05:00 pm where you will have the remainder of the evening to explore the city.
Day 5 – After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cusco (flight not included), upon arrival in Cusco you will be picked up and transferred to your accommodation for check in, after checking into your accommodation you will need to visit the agency office for a short briefing regarding your tours, you will then have the remainder of the day to relax or explore Cusco on your own.
Day 6 – Today you will be picked up (time and location set at briefing) around 8:00 am and depart for the Sacred Valley, your first stop will be an artisanal market where you can purchase a variety of commercial and hand made items. After the market stop you will continue on to the town of Pisac and it’s archaeological site where you will enjoy a tour of this important Inka agricultural center. After visiting Pisac you will head West through the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Inkas before taking a break to enjoy a Peruvian lunch buffet. After lunch we will continue on towards the town of Ollantaytambo, here you will have a guided tour of this ancient city before having to be at the train station for your 7:00 pm train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). When you arrive in Aguas Calientes someone from the Inti Killa hostal will meet you at the train station and take you to the hostal for check in. In the evening your guide for the next day will meet you at the hostal (the time will be covered in your briefing) to inform you of the meeting time and location for your Machu Picchu tour the next day.

Day 7 – You will have two options today, you can hike up to the Machu Picchu entrance, or take the optional shuttle bus, in either case you will need to be at the entrance in time to meet your guide (normal around 7:00 am). Once the group is assembled you will enter Machu Picchu and start your tour that will last for approximately 2 hours, during which the guide will explain the history of this “Lost City of the Inkas”. After the tour you will have free time to explore the site on your own before having to return to the train station in time to catch your 6:20 pm train back to Ollantaytambo, in Ollantaytambo you there will be transportation to take you back to Cusco where you will arrive around 10:00 pm.
Day 8 – Morning breakfast followed by transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima (flight not included), once in Lima you will be picked up and transferred to your accommodation for check in, then you will have the remainder of the day to explore the city.
Day 9 – Today after breakfast you will be picked up to start your full day Lima tour, your first stop will be Huaca Pucllana, a large mud brick pyramid built in the 4th century. Next you will visit the museum in the Central Reserve Bank (This Museum is closed on Sundays and Mondays) where you will see a fine selection of artifacts, ceramics and gold objects from a variety of pre-colonial cultures, as well as the Cohen gold collection. The next stop will be the main square where you will see the Cathedral as well as the Government and Municipal Palaces, after the main square you will visit the San Francisco church where you will not only tour the church itself, but also the catacombs beneath the church with their rooms full of intricately stacked bones.
After the church you will enjoy lunch before setting off for Pachacamac, an archaeological site constructed around 200 AD and located approximately 40km South of Lima, here you will tour the site, visiting the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of Pachacamac, and the Temple of Acllahuasi or “Palace of the Virgins of the Sun”. After the tour of Pachacamac you will return to Lima, stopping to visit the bohemian district of Barranco before being dropped off in Miraflores.

Day 10 – After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight out of Lima.
