Day 1 – Arrival in Lima at any time, pick up at the airport and transfer to your accommodation for check in, then you will have the remainder of the day to explore the city.

Day 2 – Transfer back to the Lima airport for your flight from Lima to Cusco (flight not included), arrival in Cusco at any time, you will then be picked up and transported to your accommodation for check in, after checking into your accommodation you will need to visit the agency office for a short briefing regarding your tours, you will then have the remainder of the day to relax or explore Cusco on your own.

Day 3 – Today you will be picked up (time and location set at briefing) around 8:00 am and depart for the Sacred Valley, your first stop will be an artisanal market where you can purchase a variety of commercial and hand made items. After the market stop you will continue on to the town of Pisac and it’s archaeological site where you will enjoy a tour of this important Inka agricultural center. After visiting Pisac you will head West through the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas before taking a break to enjoy a Peruvian lunch buffet. After lunch we will continue on towards the town of Ollantaytambo, here you will have a guided tour of this ancient city before having to be at the train station for your 7:00 pm train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). When you arrive in Aguas Calientes someone from the Inti Killa hostal will meet you at the train station and take you to the hostal for check in. In the evening your guide for the next day will meet you at the hostal (the time will be covered in your briefing) to inform you of the meeting time and location for your Machu Picchu tour the next day.

Day 4 – You will have two options today, you can hike up to the Machu Picchu entrance, or take the optional shuttle bus, in either case you will need to be at the entrance in time to meet your guide (normal around 7:00 am). Once the group is assembled you will enter Machu Picchu and start your tour that will last for approximately 2 hours, during which the guide will explain the history of this “Lost City of the Incas”. After the tour you will have free time to explore the site on your own before having to return to the train station in time to catch your 6:20 pm train back to Cusco, where you will arrive around 10:00 pm.

Day 5 – Today you will be picked up from your hotel by 6:20am and transported to the bus station, you will be taking a tourist bus today that will make stops 6 stops in route to Puno. The first two stops in Andahuaylillas and Huaro will be to visit some of the nicest churches in the region, with the San Pedro church in Andahuaylillas being the church generally referred to as the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas”. The third stop is at the archaeological site of Raqchi, following which you will make a stop in Sicuani for lunch, then after lunch you will continue on, stopping again at La Raya, which is at 4,335 meters. The last stop on the journey before reaching Puno will be to visit a museum in Pukara, throughout all of these stops you will be accompanied by a knowledgeable guide that will tell you about each location and answer your questions. When you arrive in Puno you will have to get a taxi to your hotel where you will check in for the night and then have the evening to explore Puno.

Day 6 – Today you will be picked up from the hotel at about 7:30 am and then transported to the port, here you will board the boat that will transport you out to the unique floating islands or Uros, here you will have a tour and receive explanations as to how these man made islands are created. After visiting the floating island you will travel to Taquile island where you will have lunch and then visit the local community before being returned to the port about 4:30 pm.

Day 7 – Morning breakfast followed by transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima (flight not included), once in Lima you will be picked up and transferred to your accommodation for check in, then you will have the remainder of the day to explore the city.

Day 8 – Today after breakfast you will be picked up to start your full day Lima tour, your first stop will be Huaca Pucllana, a large mud brick pyramid built in the 4th century. Next you will visit the museum in the Central Reserve Bank (This Museum is closed on Sundays and Mondays) where you will see a fine selection of artifacts, ceramics and gold objects from a variety of pre-colonial cultures, as well as the Cohen gold collection. The next stop will be the main square where you will see the Cathedral as well as the Government and Municipal Palaces, after the main square you will visit the San Francisco church where you will not only tour the church itself, but also the catacombs beneath the church with their rooms full of intricately stacked bones.

After the church you will enjoy lunch before setting off for Pachacamac, an archaeological site constructed around 200 AD and located approximately 40km South of Lima, here you will tour the site, visiting the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of Pachacamac, and the Temple of Acllahuasi or “Palace of the Virgins of the Sun”. After the tour of Pachacamac you will return to Lima, stopping to visit the bohemian district of Barranco before being dropped off in Miraflores.

Day 9 – Today you will have a free day in Lima, you can explore on your own or we can arrange additional tours for you if you would like.

Day 10 – After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight out of Lima.
